The Storia dell’Arte in Italia series represents a new approach to the subject. Rather than a history of Italian art, it is the many histories of art in Italy, bound together by one common denominator: the original character of our tradition.
The Storia dell’Arte in Italia highlights the peculiarity of the many artistic phenomena that our country has produced in the various regions and over the centuries. Each phenomenon has been reduced to its fundamental forms of expression, in other words painting, sculpture and architecture, not forgetting the so-called "minor" arts, which often make a distinctive contribution.
Each volume contains approximately 250 pages and is richly illustrated.
