The publication

This encyclopaedic work comprises 6 volumes in all, laid out in 2 parts - the Encyclopedia (5 volumes, 3,500 pages approx.) and the book on Museums (1 volume, 500 pages approx.). Each part is set out alphabetically in entries and is generously illustrated in the text.
The Encyclopaedia was conceived to cater to a wider public whose interests extend to history, culture and art but who are not necessarily scholars in any of these fields. For this reason, the layout has been designed to provide for easy reference and reading.
The alphabetical order of the entries and the host of headwords contribute to this end (where it was decided to avoid large general or theoretical categories as these can prove of little use to the layman) alongside the simplicity of the framework of each single entry, the profusion of cross-references. Consulting the Encyclopaedia is also a treat for the eyes thanks to a collection of illustrations that products a great visual impact.
Furthermore, the quality and authority of the texts ensure that the work will equally capture the interest of a more scholarly public, including professionals in the art world (professors, etc.).
The work will comprise a CD and DVD Rom
