The Storia Universale dell’Arte is a series of monographic volumes dedicated to the artistic civilisations of the entire world, from the remotest and most ancient to the nearest and most recent. The authors have delved into artistic geography, the sociology of art, cultural anthropology, iconography, as well as archaeology, ethnology and art history, to reconstruct the different artistic phenomena, and the social, political and religious contexts that produced them.
