The publication

This complete edition of the works of Cato (Orations, Agriculture, Origins, Epistles, Fragments), has been thoroughly revised. It presents substantial critical annotation which, on the one hand, justifies the differences as regards previous versions, and on the other, clarifies aspects of Cato's discourse. The parallel translation is faithful to the author's original text and the introduction gives a detailed account of his life and writings. Finally, the ample indices provide an easy guide to Cato's works.

Paolo Cugusi and Maria Teresa Sblendorio Cugusi are both professors of Latin language and literature at the Faculty of Letters and Philosophy of the University of Cagliari.
