The publication

This volume contains some of Euripides' tragedies which won most acclaim in ancient times, and have profoundly influenced the theatre in modern times.
This edition is attentive to Euripides' dramaturgical values and is based upon an accurate philological analysis. In many parts, it represents a new text. The translation aims to achieve a theatrical rendering, highlighting the value of dramatisation. The comment pays particular attention to the ancient stage representation.
