The purpose of this Dizionario is to offer the unspecialised reader a simple and possibly exhaustive explanation of the principal concepts that are part of the political universe. It presents the historical evolution of politics, analyses its current use, makes references to similar or opposing concepts, and lists authors and their works.
Since the universe of political language communicates with other areas of study, the reader will find words from the economic world such as "capitalismo", terms used in sociology such as "classe", and others from the judicial system such as "codificazione", all explained in their bearing in the political sphere.
To meet the demands for conceptual clarity, so often called for in these years of intense, lively and ever broader political debate, the second edition of the Dizionario contains numerous entries with a complete bibliography.
