THE DICTIONARY OF SOCIOLOGY
(Dizionario di Sociologia – by Luciano Gallo)
The
author has revised all the entries of this edition of the Dizionario
di Sociologia in order to up-date the statistical and chronological
data, to give due consideration to the technological changes that
have most influenced social and cultural processes studied in sociology
(especially in the work environment, organisations and mass communications)
and to adapt political and geographical references to the transformations
that have taken place over the last decade.
The revision has maintained, if not reinforced the references and
links between entries, making it possible (unlike with other dictionaries)
to use the Dizionario di Sociologia not only for consultation, but
also as an organic study.
The bibliographies linked to each entry have also been revised for
this edition, and they include over 6,000 titles in five languages.
This means that the Dizionario di Sociologia provides explanations
and interpretations of social, individual and collective behaviour
in modern society which the careful reader will find surprisingly
up-to-date.
