THE HISTORY OF CONTEMPORARY ITALY: FROM THE FIRST WORLD WAR TO THE END OF THE FIRST REPUBLIC
(Storia dell’Italia Contemporanea: dalla Prima Guerra Mondiale alla fine della Prima Repubblica)

This collection is devoted to Italy’s contemporary history and constitutes a special three-volume edition of books from the Storia d’Italia series.
The Storia dell’Italia Contemporanea covers the period from the beginning of the century to 1992. Obviously this period includes the two World Wars, the transformation from monarchy to republic, the development of democracy in post-war Italy, the Mafia and terrorism, and corruption, events that have all marked the twentieth century.
Although many of the facts contained in this publication are exceptionally recent, they have been removed from the pages of the news and treated from a historical point of view.
La prima guerra mondiale e il fascismo
(The First World War and Fascism – by N. Tranfaglia).
La seconda guerra mondiale e la repubblica
(The Second World War and the Republic – by S. Colarizi).
La Repubblica dal 1958 al 1992
(The Republic from 1958 to 1992 – by P. Craveri)
