CANTOLOPERA

This is a totally new and stimulating approach to the world of opera and its secrets. The ten CDs are attractively packaged and have been especially designed to exploit fully the interactive possibilities of the multimedia. In an absolutely original way, Cantolopera allows the user to listen to the music, consult the encyclopaedia, and personally interpret the passages of opera.
The series provides 140 arias representing the best of the Italian, French, German and Russian traditions. It is possible to listen to each aria and follow the score and libretto; but simply browsing through the texts, the user can improve his/her knowledge of the opera, its author, its librettist, the great stars, the historical context, and all the excitement and controversy often surrounding the first performance.
A unique aspect of this work is the possibility for singers, or students of singing, to practise over pre-recorded music bases of the principal operatic arias, and to "cover" for the famous opera stars who originally performed them.
