The publication
With a range of somptuous illustrations and featuring contributions
from an international line-up of experts, the work offers a comprehensive
history of life on our planet, from its origins to the present day.
The arrangement is essentially retrospective and evolutionary, beginning
from the first microorganisms born four billion years ago, and continuing
through the biological and behavioral development of vegetable and
animal species to include their interaction and relations with their
environment. The first volume specifical ly covers evolution, and
the second strategies and interaction among the different species
with up to the minute field studies. While the language is clear
and straightforward, the contents boast highly innovative and original
features. Texts and illustrations, along with charts, are fully
integrated to ensure maximum clarity.
