Modern medicine is increasingly attentive to the preservation of anatomical
structures and functions, as well as the most accurate and complete recovery
of the organism’s activities following injury. For this reason Physical
Medicine and Rehabilitation are constantly acquiring importance in the
field.
We felt that it is important to provide physiatrists and physiotherapists
with up-to-date tools to help in their preparation and permanent training,
the most recent publications written and edited by Italian and foreign
authors, chosen for their scientific value and practical use.
The series of volumes that make up Medicina Fisica e Riabilitazione is
based on a central work, the Trattato di Medicina Fisica e Riabilitazione,
and has been created to provide basic works (e.g. Esame obiettivo dell’apparato
muscoloscheletrico by Gross, Cinesiterapia by Genot). These are then further
developed and analysed in publications dedicated to specific pathologies
or particularly interesting techniques (e.g. Riabilitazione in Ortopedia
by Brotzman, or Medicina manuale by Maigne).
As well as the ample space provided for muscular-skeletal rehabilitation,
another series has been created concerning the rehabilitation of an internal
and neurological nature.
